Answer: According to Francis Hartigan's biography of A.A.'s Co-founder, "Bill even wrote the Big Book chapter entitled, 'To the Wives.' Quite naturally, Lois saw this as something she was much better qualified to do...'I've never understood why he didn't want me to write it,' Lois told me when I asked her about it. 'I was so mad, and hurt. I don't think i have ever gotten over it. It still makes me mad just to think about it.'"
